Ogun community seeks IBEDC’s help in installation of 500KVA/33KV transformer

Members and residents of Orile Egun, Ijere-Wasimi, via Pakuro, in Obafemi-Owode Local Council of  Ogun State, have sent a Save our Soul (SoS) letter to Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company PLC (IBEDC), requesting assistance to install 500KVA/33KV in the area.
 
The residentsmake up e five Community Development Associations (CDAs) namely; Aseyori, Land of Peace, Ijere Wasimi, Ilupeju and Libertywith over 400 completed houses.
   
In a letter by Aseyori Electricity Committee to the Managing Director of IBEDC, titled: “Request For Assistance in Installation of 500KVA/33KV Transformer at Orile Egun Junction, Pakuro, Ogun State, and dated February 1, 2023,  the community noted that it had positioned the said transformer on the plinth, planted all the High Tension poles (concrete) needed for the line and stringed the line from the nearest 33KV sources to our sub-station.
 
The letter was signed on behalf of the Aseyori Electricity Committee, by  Olanipekun Babalola  (Chairman), Adenugba Praise (Secretary), Alfred Thompson (Ijere Wasimi chairman), Mr Olagunju Sunday, (Aseyori CDA chairman),  Akeem Lawal, (Liberty CDA Chairman), Bashiru Ibrahim (Land of Peace CDA Chairman) and Adewale Quadri  (Ilupeju CDA Chairman).
   
The letter read: “We the entire executive and members of the above named association humbly request for assistance from your esteemed company in the installation of a unit of 500KVA/33KV transformer in our community.
 
“Aseyori Electricity Committee comprises  five community Development Association (CDAs) namely; Aseyori, Land of peace, Ijere Wasimi, Ilupeju and Liberty CDA with over 400 completed houses.
 
“We have completed the following tasks on this project, the positioning of  the transformer on the plinth, planted all the High Tension poles (concrete) needed for the line and stringed the line from the nearest 33KV sources to our sub-station.
 
“For previous efforts to yield the desired results, the community therefore requested IBEDC to help build on High Tension gentry switching arrangement with necessary accessories, mount a feeder pillar, install the L.V riser cable, earth the transformer and other relevant works that may be necessary.
 
“We now need to  build on High Tension  gentry switching arrangement with necessary accessories, mount a feeder pillar, install the L.V riser cable, earth the transformer and other relevant works that may be necessary.
   
“Our community will be highly grateful for your assistance at this juncture and promise to reciprocate this good gesture by settling of our bills without delay upon completion/installation of this transformer.”
   
Reacting, IBEDC through its Media Relations Manager, Busolami Tuwase, said there was a need to investigate what actually happened. She said: “They need to carry IBEDC along. They should follow up on the letter and go to where it was submitted. “I’m sure the Business Hub (BH) manager would have responded. “Where was the letter submitted to? Was the letter acknowledged by Ogun Business Hub?
 
“When we are inundated with requests, we need to take it one after the other. There must be a roundtable discussion. They should not resort to self-help without consultation.”
